Sofia's Inspiring Story
The Sofia Daisy Campaign was born from one brave girl's incredible journey. On December 2, 2020, seven-year-old Sofia's life changed forever when she suffered cardiac arrest during gym class. Thanks to her vice principal's heroic nine-minute CPR effort, Sofia survived.
Diagnosed with Restrictive Cardiomyopathy, Sofia's only hope was a heart transplant. After six months of care at Toronto's renowned SickKids Hospital and support from Ronald McDonald House Charities, Sofia received her life-saving heart transplant in July 2021.
Today, Sofia is thriving. She plays soccer, enjoys the outdoors, and passionately advocates for CPR and AED training in schools and workplaces across Nova Scotia. Her story is a powerful reminder of why organ donation matters and how community support changes lives.
