The Story of Sofia Daisy
The Sofia Daisy Campaign began with a mission inspired by Sofia, a brave young girl whose life changed forever on December 2, 2020. At just seven years old, Sofia suffered cardiac arrest during gym class. Thanks to the heroic efforts of her vice principal, who performed CPR for nine minutes, Sofia's life was saved. Diagnosed with "Restrictive Cardiomyopathy," Sofia's only chance was a heart transplant.
After six months of care at Toronto’s SickKids Hospital and support from Ronald McDonald House Charities, Sofia received her life-saving heart transplant in July 2021. Today, Sofia thrives, enjoying outdoor activities and advocating for life-saving CPR and AED training in schools and workplaces across Nova Scotia. Her journey is a testament to the power of organ donation and the importance of community support.
