Life changes in a heartbeat—sometimes literally. For Sofia life changed in an instant on December 2, 2020. It began as a normal morning in any seven year old's life: laughing, joking around with her brothers, and then off to school. It ended with cardiac arrest in the middle of gym class. The fast action of the vice principal, who performed CPR on her until EMS arrived, saved her life. She was taken directly to the IWK.

Soon afterwards, Sofia was diagnosed with a rare heart disease called Restrictive Cardiomyopathy. The only option was a heart transplant.  So then the waiting began.

Except we didn't want to just sit idly, counting the days, and Sofia isn't the only child in need. The "Sofia Daisy" is all about giving back to help other kids with heart disease. If there is a way to help another family with research, equipment, anything, we want to be a part of that. It's the least we can do for all the help we've received. The daisy represents love, purity, positive vibes, and new beginnings.

We at Atlantic Wood N Wares are overjoyed to announce that we are proud supporters of the IWK Foundation. Each "Sofia Daisy" comes in two sizes and seven pastel colors: Blue, Green, Orange, Pink, Purple, Yellow (all with dark centers), and White (with yellow center).

Ten dollars from each sale will go to help the IWK Foundation in honor of Sofia.
