The fast action of the vice principal, who performed CPR on her until EMS arrived, saved her life. She was taken directly to the IWK. Soon afterwards, Sofia was diagnosed with a rare heart disease called Restrictive Cardiomyopathy. The only option was a heart transplant. So then the waiting began.
