It began as a normal morning in any seven year old`s life: laughing, joking around with her brothers, and then off to school. It ended with cardiac arrest in the middle of gym class. The fast action of the vice principal, who performed CPR on her until EMS arrived, saved her life. She was taken directly to the IWK. Soon afterwards, Sofia was diagnosed with a rare heart disease called Restrictive Cardiomyopathy. The only option was a heart transplant. So then the waiting began.
