Life changes in a heartbeat—sometimes literally. For Sofia life changed in an instant on December 2, 2020. It began as a normal morning in any seven year old`s life: laughing, joking around with her brothers, and then off to school. It ended with cardiac arrest in the middle of gym class. The fast action of the vice principal, who performed CPR on her until EMS arrived, saved her life. She was taken directly to the IWK. Soon afterwards, Sofia was diagnosed with a rare heart disease called Restrictive Cardiomyopathy. The only option was a heart transplant. So then the waiting began.

Except we didn`t want to just sit idly, counting the days, and Sofia isn`t the only child in need. The Sofia Daisy (Purple) is a product created to help raise funds for children in need of heart transplants. This beautiful purple daisy is a symbol of hope and strength for those in need. It is a reminder that life can change in an instant, and that we must never take it for granted.
